The Non-Vegetarian Allergy Panel Test is a diagnostic blood test that checks for allergies to commonly consumed animal proteins such as chicken, mutton, beef, pork, fish, shellfish, and eggs. It helps identify immune hypersensitivity to these foods, which can trigger allergic reactions ranging from mild symptoms like hives to severe anaphylaxis.

A blood sample is collected from the patient and analyzed for specific IgE antibodies against a panel of non-vegetarian food allergens. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) or similar immunoassays are used to determine the concentration of IgE.

Elevated levels of IgE to a particular meat or seafood indicate sensitization to that allergen. A positive result suggests that the patient may develop allergic symptoms upon consuming the corresponding food. These results help clinicians formulate personalized dietary plans and allergen avoidance strategies.

This test is useful for individuals who experience unexplained digestive issues, skin reactions, breathing difficulties, or anaphylaxis following the consumption of non-vegetarian foods. It is particularly helpful when the specific trigger is unclear.
