Thrombocheck Total Package in Mangaluru Overview

What is the THROMBOCHECK TOTAL Test?

ThromboCheck Total is a comprehensive thrombophilia/thrombosis evaluation panel that assesses multiple factors involved in blood clot formation and dissolution to identify inherited or acquired causes of a hypercoagulable state (increased tendency to form clots).

Components - Protein C Activity, Free Protein S Antigen Levels, Anti Thrombin III Activity, Factor V Leiden, Factor VIII Level, Homocysteine, Anti phospholipid Antibody, Lupus Anticoagulant (Both APTT and RVVT Based), Anti ß2 Glycoprotein 1 IgM, Anti ß2 Glycoprotein 1 IgG, JAK2 Mutation, Cardiolipin Glucoprotein IgG & IgM, MTHFR Gene Mutation, Factor II (Prothrombin).

Why consider THROMBOCHECK TOTAL Test?

  • To evaluate unexplained or recurrent venous thrombosis (e.g., DVT, PE) and identify inherited or acquired thrombophilia that may change management.
  • To assess risk in individuals with strong family history of early/recurrent clots, or clots at unusual sites (cerebral, mesenteric, portal, hepatic/Budd‑Chiari).
  • To investigate suspected antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) in settings such as thrombosis, pregnancy morbidity, or prolonged aPTT with lupus anticoagulant patterns.
  • To guide decisions on duration/intensity of anticoagulation and counselling for risk situations (surgery, immobilization, estrogen therapy, pregnancy).

Who should get this THROMBOCHECK TOTAL Test?

  • Individuals with a personal history of unprovoked or recurrent VTE, or thrombosis at a young age or unusual sites.
  • Those with a first‑degree relative with a known high‑risk thrombophilia or strong family history of early/recurrent clots.
  • Patients with clinical suspicion of APS (thrombosis and/or pregnancy morbidity) needing antibody evaluation (lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin, anti‑β2GP1).
  • Select cases where results would change management, as emphasized by clinical guidelines on thrombophilia testing following VTE or positive family history.

More Information about THROMBOCHECK TOTAL Test

Other Names – Thrombophilia, Thrombochek, Thrombophilia test

Thrombophilia, a condition characterized by an increased tendency to form blood clots, is diagnosed through a combination of clinical assessment, family history, and laboratory testing.

Thrombocheck total package checks various components in blood sample which are responsible for coagulation of the blood. Few examples are given below:

  • Anticoagulant factors: Protein C, Protein S and Antithrombin III
  • Procoagulant factors: Factor V, Factor VIII
  • Autoimmune factors: Lupus anticoagulant, Anticardiolipin antibodies, Anti-β-2-glycoprotein antibodies
  • Homocysteine
