Helicobacter Pylori Antigen

This test detects antigens of the Helicobacter pylori bacterium in a stool sample, indicating an active infection.

It is used to diagnose active H. pylori infection, a common cause of peptic ulcers, gastritis, and stomach cancer risk.

A fresh stool sample is analyzed using enzyme immunoassay techniques to detect bacterial antigens.

A positive result confirms active infection. A negative result suggests absence of infection, or successful eradication after treatment.

Avoid antibiotics, bismuth-containing medications, and proton pump inhibitors before the test, as they may affect accuracy.
