Collection instructions

Do not use spirit or other volatile disinfectants swab while collecting blood sample. use non alcohol germicidal solution aqueous zephiran ( benzallkonium chloride), aqueous Merthiolate ( thimerosal) or povidone-iodine to cleanse the skin and sterile dry sponges should be used to cover the venipuncture site. The blood sample should be collected in Gel vacutainer & separated serum by centrifugtion at the earliest after complete clotting of sample. Avoid transfer of separated serum in another tube. Provide Age, gender, medication & clinical details . Lipemic & hameolysed sample should be avoided.
