Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) Embryo 5 tests for chromosomal abnormalities in embryos before implantation during in vitro fertilization (IVF). It assesses the chromosomal status to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy.

It is recommended for couples undergoing IVF, especially those with recurrent miscarriages, advanced maternal age, or a history of genetic disorders.

A few cells are biopsied from the embryo and analyzed using next-generation sequencing (NGS) to assess chromosomal abnormalities.

  • Normal embryo: Suitable for implantation.
  • Abnormal embryo: Indicates chromosomal abnormalities, which may lead to implantation failure or miscarriage.
