Glucose Post-prandial, Plasma Test in Ludhiana Overview

The term post prandial simply means after a meal. Therefore, a post prandial blood sugar test simply measures the sugar levels post a meal, typically after two hours. The PP blood sugar test is done together with the fasting blood sugar test.

The food we eat is converted to glucose and the level of glucose in the blood is controlled by insulin. In a diabetic person, either there is not enough insulin produced or there is insulin impairment.

The post prandial test shows how your body responds to sugar post a meal. While the fasting blood sugar helps set a baseline sugar level.
