Chlamydia Trachomatis IgG

The Chlamydia Trachomatis IgG Serum Test detects IgG antibodies produced in response to Chlamydia trachomatis, a sexually transmitted bacterium that can cause reproductive tract infections.

This test is recommended for:

• Individuals with a history of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
• Women experiencing infertility or recurrent miscarriages.
• Patients presenting with pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) or chronic pelvic pain.

A blood sample is drawn and analyzed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) or immunofluorescence techniques to detect Chlamydia-specific IgG antibodies.

• Positive result: Indicates past or ongoing Chlamydia infection.
• Negative result: No evidence of prior Chlamydia infection.
