About FIBROSIS-4 SCORE test :

The FIB-4 score is a non-invasive blood test calculation used to estimate liver fibrosis (scarring)—especially in people with fatty liver disease, hepatitis B or C, or elevated liver enzymes. It helps determine whether advanced liver scarring is unlikely or needs further evaluation.

It is calculated from four routine lab values:

1. Age
2. AST (SGOT) – liver enzyme
3. ALT (SGPT) – liver enzyme
4. Platelet count

FIB-4 = (Age × AST) / (Platelets × √ALT)

• < 1.3 → Low risk of advanced fibrosis
• 3 – 2.67 → Indeterminate (needs further testing)
• > 2.67 → High risk of advanced fibrosis
