- %cd25 (il-2 Receptor)
The CD25 percent test measures the percentage of CD25-positive cells, primarily activated T cells and regulatory T cells, which play a critical role in immune regulation. It is used to assess immune system function and detect immune disorders.
This test is recommended for evaluating patients with suspected immune deficiencies, autoimmune diseases, or certain types of leukemia, including adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL).
A blood sample is collected, and flow cytometry is used to identify and quantify CD25 expression on immune cells.
Elevated CD25 levels may indicate immune activation or malignancies such as ATLL, while low levels may suggest immune dysregulation or dysfunction.
