This test quantifies the percentage of CD5-expressing lymphocytes, mainly T cells, but also some B cells in certain leukemias.

It helps in diagnosing and monitoring lymphoproliferative disorders like chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and T-cell lymphomas.

A peripheral blood or bone marrow sample is analyzed by flow cytometry.
