The insulin serum postprandial test helps identify diabetes and insulin resistance by measuring blood insulin levels after a meal.
It is advised for people who exhibit signs of diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), or insulin resistance.
To determine postprandial insulin levels, a blood sample is obtained two hours after a meal.
Normal levels: Show a typical insulin response.
Increased levels: Indicate hyperinsulinemia or insulin resistance.
Low levels could be a sign of insufficient insulin.
