B-CAROTENE
A test to measure the levels of B-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, in the blood. Low levels can indicate vitamin A deficiency, while high levels may suggest excessive intake or certain health conditions. The test is used to monitor nutrition and assess risks for eye and skin conditions.

What is Beta-Carotene?
- Beta-carotene (β-carotene) is a pigment found in plants (orange, yellow, and dark green vegetables).

- Vitamin A is essential for:
- Healthy vision
- Immune function
- Skin and mucous membrane health
- Growth and development
