This test detects BCL-2 gene rearrangement at chromosome 18q21, which is associated with follicular lymphoma and other B-cell lymphomas. Identifying this rearrangement helps in diagnosis and guiding treatment.
It is recommended for patients with suspected B-cell lymphomas, especially follicular lymphoma or diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). It aids in confirming the diagnosis and determining prognosis.
A blood sample is drawn from the patient and analyzed to measure the free beta hCG concentration. Abnormal levels may indicate possible fetal abnormalities or complications.
Elevated levels may be associated with multiple pregnancies, molar pregnancy, or Down syndrome, while low levels may indicate an increased risk of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.
