The TLE1 test is an immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis used to detect the presence of TLE1 protein, commonly overexpressed in synovial sarcoma, a rare type of soft tissue cancer.
Patients with suspected synovial sarcoma or other soft tissue tumors should undergo this test for diagnostic confirmation.
A tissue biopsy is analyzed using IHC techniques to detect TLE1 protein expression.
Positive results strongly suggest synovial sarcoma and may guide appropriate treatment.
A positive result may lead to further tumor staging, followed by surgical intervention, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.
