Thrombocheck Acquired Panel Package in Agra Overview
What is Thrombocheck Acquired panel test?
The Thrombocheck Acquired panel test is a diagnostic blood test designed to detect acquired (non-genetic) causes of thrombophilia, particularly those related to antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) — an autoimmune disorder that increases the risk of blood clots. In this condition, the body’s immune system mistakenly produces antibodies that attack phospholipids or associated proteins in the blood, disrupting normal clotting control and leading to abnormal or excessive clot formation.
Parameter Covered: LUPUS ANTICOAGULANT, ANTI β2 GLYCOPROTEIN 1 IGG, ANTI β2 GLYCOPROTEIN 1 IGM, CARDIOLIPIN ANTIBODIES IGG & IGM
Why consider Thrombocheck Acquired panel test?
- To diagnose antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) in patients with unexplained clotting.
- To evaluate causes of recurrent pregnancy loss or complications.
- To investigate prolonged clotting times or unexplained arterial/venous thrombosis.
- To monitor autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), where these antibodies are common.
Who should get tested for Thrombocheck Acquired panel test?
- Individuals with recurrent blood clots without a clear cause.
- Women with repeated miscarriages or stillbirths.
- Patients with autoimmune disorders, especially lupus.
- People with abnormal coagulation profiles or unexplained strokes at a young age.
More Information
OTHER NAMES: Acquired Thrombophilia Panel, Antiphospholipid Antibody Panel, Secondary Thrombophilia Workup
Thrombophilia is a medical condition in which the blood has an increased tendency to form abnormal clots (thrombi) in veins or arteries. These clots can partially or completely block normal blood flow, leading to serious health problems such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), stroke, or recurrent pregnancy loss. Thrombophilia can be inherited (genetic) or acquired (developed later in life).
Types of Thrombophilia
- Inherited (Genetic) Thrombophilia: Caused by genetic mutations passed from parents to children.
- Acquired Thrombophilia: Develops later due to medical conditions or external factors.
