HSV 1 and 2 (IgG & IgM)

A herpes simplex virus (HSV) antibody test is a blood test that checks for the presence of HSV antibodies in your blood. The test can help identify if you've had a previous HSV infection, or if you're experiencing a recurrence. It can also help determine which type of HSV is causing an infection. The test looks for the presence of HSV antibodies in your blood. Your immune system produces different antibodies for HSV-1 and HSV-2.
