This test evaluates the percentage of cells expressing CD19 and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT), markers associated with early B-cell development.
It aids in diagnosing and monitoring acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and evaluating treatment response.
A flow cytometry analysis of blood or bone marrow samples is done to quantify CD19+TdT+ cells.
An increased percentage suggests presence or recurrence of immature B-cells, often seen in leukemia.
No fasting or preparation is needed, but timing and sample type depend on the clinical context.
