FIP1L1-PDGFRA GENE REARRANGEMENT
This test detects a gene rearrangement involving FIP1L1 and PDGFRA, which is associated with certain forms of leukemia. It helps in diagnosing myeloproliferative diseases, particularly chronic eosinophilic leukemia. The rearrangement is a target for specific treatments.

- Fip1l1-pdgfra Gene Rearrangement
This test detects the FIP1L1-PDGFRA fusion gene, which is associated with certain eosinophilic disorders, including hypereosinophilic syndrome and eosinophilic leukemia.
It helps diagnose PDGFRA-associated eosinophilic disorders and guides treatment decisions, particularly the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
A blood or bone marrow sample is analyzed using PCR or fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to detect the gene fusion.
A positive result confirms the presence of a PDGFRA-associated disorder, which responds well to imatinib therapy.
Treatment with targeted therapy and regular blood count monitoring is usually recommended.
