HLA - DQ & DR LOCI TYPING BY HISTOSPOT

HLA DQ and DR loci typing is a genetic test that identifies specific variations in the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system. These loci are associated with immune function and are especially relevant in organ transplantation compatibility, autoimmune disorders like celiac disease and type 1 diabetes, and certain drug hypersensitivities.

HLA typing helps determine if a donor and recipient are immunologically compatible for organ or stem cell transplantation. In autoimmune conditions, specific HLA types like HLA-DQ2 or DQ8 are linked to disease susceptibility and aid in diagnosis.

A blood sample is collected and DNA is extracted for molecular analysis. PCR-based techniques or next-generation sequencing are used to identify specific alleles at the DQ and DR loci.
