Lymphoma NGS Panel Test in Bengaluru Overview

What is Lymphoma NGS panel test?

Lymphoma NGS panel is a Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) test that analyzes multiple genes associated with lymphoma simultaneously to detect genetic alterations that can aid in diagnosis, determine prognosis, and guide personalized treatment.

Genomic profiling of 95 genes relevant for a broad range of lymphoid disorders such as major B-cell lymphomas, T- cell lymphomas and NK cell lymphomas.

This targeted DNA sequencing approach identifies single nucleotide variants (SNVs), small insertions/deletions (INDELs), and copy number variants (CNVs) in genes crucial for lymphoid malignancies, providing a more comprehensive molecular profile than traditional methods.

Why consider Lymphoma NGS panel test?

  • Personalized Treatment: Genetic analysis allows clinicians to identify the most effective treatments tailored to your unique cancer.
  • Targeted Therapy Identification: Over 40% of patients in the program have received targeted therapies, a significant increase from previous rates, thanks to fast NGS results.
  • Faster Treatment Initiation: Rapid test results mean you can start the right treatment sooner, which is critical for aggressive blood cancers.
  • Reduced Waiting Times for Transplants: Faster diagnostics have reduced the waiting period for bone marrow transplants by nearly two months, improving the chances of recovery.
  • Improved Survival Rates: The accelerated access to precise, personalized treatments has contributed to measurable improvements in one-year survival rates for patients in Agilus's rapid diagnostics program.
  • Actionable Insights: The test provides clinically actionable insights, not just raw data, which helps physicians make informed decisions for effective patient management.

Who should get this Lymphoma NGS panel test?

This panel is recommended for patients diagnosed with or suspected of having lymphoma particularly for identifying specific genetic changes that can guide personalized, targeted therapy decisions. This comprehensive genomic analysis helps doctors understand the unique molecular profile of a patient's lymphoma to select the most effective treatment and improve outcomes.

More Information about Lymphoma NGS panel test

Lymphoma is a cancer of lymphocytes (white blood cells) that typically presents with painless lymph node swelling and systemic “B symptoms” like fever, drenching night sweats, and unexplained weight loss. Lymphoma arises in the lymphatic system (lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow) when lymphocytes become malignant and proliferate abnormally, impairing immunity and crowding normal cells.  The two main groups are Hodgkin lymphoma (characterized by Reed–Sternberg cells) and non‑Hodgkin lymphoma (over 90 subtypes), each with distinct behavior and treatment approaches.
