This test detects CD41, a marker for platelets and megakaryocytes, important in diagnosing platelet disorders and hematologic malignancies. It is used to identify megakaryocytic differentiation in myeloproliferative disorders. CD41 positivity is common in acute megakaryoblastic leukemia.
