Multiple Myeloma (MM) belongs to a family of neoplasms involving clonal expansion of immunoglobulin-secreting B-cells, often with bone marrow involvement, resulting in anemia and leukopenia. Additionally, bone lesions are often seen. This FISH panel is designed to detect the most common, and/or prognostically significant abnormalities in Multiple Myeloma and related plasma cell neoplasms. Multiple myeloma arises from clonal plasma cells that accumulate in bone marrow and produce a monoclonal immunoglobulin (M-protein) or free light chains that can harm organs.

Non-Diluted Bone Marrow Collected In A Heparinized Syringe. Also Acceptable: Green (Sodium Heparin). Transfer 3 Ml Bone Marrow To A Green (Sodium Heparin) (Min: 1 Ml). Or Transport 5 Ml Whole Blood (Min: 2 Ml). Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (Fish) Panel Is Performed On Cd138+ Sorted Cells (Assuming Specimen Is Sufficient For Sorting). If Sorting Fails To Yield Sufficient Cd138+ Cells, Testing Will Be Performed Using Unsorted Cells, If Available. Bone Marrow - Sodium Heparin +Sample Along With Clinical History Should Reach Within 24-48 Hours After Collection. Kindly Provide Clinico-Haematopathological Findings If Available Along With Trf.
