Amyloid deposits gradually leads to organ damage and this inflammation can occur for years before symptoms are present. For example: When Amyloidosis occurs in the spleen, it happens without any symptoms and when it is present in kidneys, clinical signs are be observed.

SAA is a sensitive acute phase reactant which can be used when infection and inflammation is suspected. Early diagnosis is important to prevent further organ damage and the test can help reach an Amyloidosis diagnosis. Since the disease has common symptoms, it may require biopsy and imaging tests to confirm the diagnosis.

The Amlyoid A test helps detect abnormal proteins in the blood that may indicate Amyloidosis. Serum amyloid A (SAA) is an early and sensitive blood biomarker for tissue injury and inflammation and has been indicated in many inflammatory diseases.

Amyloidosis is an inflammatory disorder that is caused by abnormal folding and aggregation of certain proteins in tissues. These deposits are called as Amyloid Deposits and contains abnormal protein fibers that are known as Amyloid Fibers. These deposits lead to structural damage and affect both the structure and function of the affected organ.
