PGS: PRE-IMPLANTATION GENETIC TESTING (EMBRYO) - 7

PGS-7 screens embryos for seven chromosomal abnormalities before IVF implantation. It helps in choosing the most viable embryos, improving the odds of a healthy pregnancy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) Embryo 7 is a specialized test performed on embryos during in vitro fertilization (IVF) to screen for chromosomal abnormalities across 7 selected chromosomes before implantation.

It is done to enhance the chances of successful implantation and pregnancy by selecting chromosomally normal embryos, reducing the risk of miscarriage, and improving IVF outcomes.

Cells are biopsied from a developing embryo on day 5 or 6 of growth and analyzed using next-generation sequencing (NGS) or array-based technology.

Results indicate whether the embryo is euploid (chromosomally normal) or aneuploid (abnormal). Only healthy embryos are chosen for transfer.

No direct patient preparation is required, but consultation with a fertility specialist and genetic counselor is advised.
