CDK-4 is a cyclin-dependent kinase involved in cell cycle regulation. This test is useful for identifying tumors with abnormal CDK-4 expression, such as certain sarcomas. Overexpression of CDK-4 can be a characteristic feature in some cancers, including melanoma and liposarcoma.
