Complete PSA

●     Have benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostatitis, a history of prostate cancer, belong to a higher-risk group, or require monitoring before or during testosterone replacement therapy.

Why Consider This Test?

While Total PSA is a useful screening marker, it cannot reliably distinguish between prostate cancer and benign prostate conditions. This limitation can lead to unnecessary biopsies and patient anxiety.

The Complete PSA test improves diagnostic accuracy by including the Free PSA measurement and Free-to-Total PSA ratio. A lower free PSA percentage is associated with a higher likelihood of prostate cancer, whereas a higher percentage is more suggestive of benign disease.
