Frequently Asked Questions

This point-of-care (POC) test measures the level of digoxin, a cardiac medication, in the blood.

It is used to monitor therapeutic levels and avoid toxicity in patients taking digoxin for heart conditions like atrial fibrillation or heart failure.

A small blood sample is collected and analyzed immediately using a rapid POC device.

The results indicate whether digoxin levels are within the therapeutic range. High levels may indicate toxicity.

Blood should be drawn at least 6–8 hours after the last dose. Inform your doctor of all medications taken.
