Anti-Islet Cell Antibody with Titre

The Anti Islet Cell Antibody (ICA) with Titre test is a blood test that detects antibodies directed against the insulin-producing islet cells of the pancreas. Who Should Get This Test Done?

This test may be recommended if individuals:

●     Experience symptoms of diabetes, such as excessive thirst, frequent urination, unexplained weight loss, or persistent fatigue.

●     Have borderline or mildly elevated blood sugar levels, are being evaluated for Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA), or have gestational diabetes with suspected autoimmune involvement.

●     Have a personal or family history of autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune thyroid disease, Addison’s disease, coeliac disease, or Type 1 Diabetes.

●     Are a child or young adult with new-onset diabetes, or are participating in diabetes screening, prevention, or research programmes.
