This test detects IgG antibodies against Taenia solium, the parasite that causes cysticercosis, in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). It is used to diagnose neurocysticercosis, a parasitic infection of the central nervous system.The most common manifestation is neurocysticercosis which occurs when the larvae invade the central nervous system, often presenting as seizures, or chronic meningitis.
