- Panfungal Dna Detection And Identification
The Panfungal Detection Panel identifies fungal infections by detecting fungal DNA in various samples using polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
Patients with prolonged fever, immunocompromised status, or suspected invasive fungal infections should undergo this test.
A blood, tissue, or respiratory sample is collected and analyzed through PCR to detect a broad range of fungal species.
Positive results indicate the presence of fungal DNA, suggesting an active or invasive fungal infection requiring antifungal treatment.
Further clinical evaluation and antifungal therapy should be initiated based on the specific fungal species identified.
